The circle/square/diamond logo stands for the growth and progression of a rider and our events mission to create a progressive atmosphere and welcome all abilities, and give you a place to showcase your skillz, and learn and progress!
What you will experience at Radgalz Events:
For all Radgalz Events we create a progressive, comfortable and always fun atmosphere. This is accomplished through the lifestyle elements such as yoga, to the clinic and coaching, and our competitive format which allows you to compete at your level with other’s at your level. (with Beginner to Advanced Categories at all our events).
Every Radgalz Event has special features and lifestyle elements from board demos, guest Pro’s, Live Music, DJs, Tutu’s, Fashion Shows, Video Lunches, Pink Carpet Photo Shoots, Pink Party’s, the list never ends so you will always have a great time and will be apart of the action (and yes a lot of it does involve the colour pink)! Guys and Family are always welcome to come out and watch the events, and come out to our entertainment or to the party’s!!
You can also expect to meet a whole posse of new shred friends as our events bring together girls that sometime may feel a little alone in their riding, and usually ride with guys. You will meet other female rider’s that will instantly remind you of yourself. For the Wake School the coaching staff is all female, and you will do your lessons with other girls in the boat as well, so it’s non-intimidating. For our She’s GOT Style Fashion Show and Theme Partay’s we pull out all stops keeping it fresh and always for riders, with riders as models, and by riders! Its lights, camera and more action! Our events are progressive and always evolving! We pride ourselves on being the new kind of action sport event for females!
The RG Vision:
To create ‘progressive’ action sport events that incorporate lifestyle elements as part of the event experience!
Radgalz was founded in 2002 by female riders for female riders, with a vision to create an all girls “dream” snowboard and lifestyle event; this became known as the Annual Radgalz Snowboard Classic. This snowboard event was the first ‘all girls’ snowboard event in Canada, and has since become the largest, and now features one of the largest Snowboard Fashion Shows in Canada as well! Since 2002 things have evolved and Radgalz Events has stayed true to the original vision and continues to create and add new “progressive” action sport and lifestyle events for galz. In 2005 Radgalz Wake School Presented by Billabong became the worlds first all girls wake school, and in 2007 The She’s got SLOPE STYLE Series Presented By Billabong, will become Canada’s First All Girls Snowboard Series showcasing all skill levels and welcoming girls from all over Canada and the World!
Where did the name Radgalz come from?
Radgalz is like the names Betty and Wahine or any other label that describes the athletic or board-sport orientated female. Radgalz is the name coined to describe girls and women that live action sport passionate lifestyles and ride. Radgalz live and breathe their sports whether it is snowboarding, skateboarding, surfing, mountain biking or wake sports. Radgalz not only is the name used for these types of concept ‘girls style’ action sport and lifestyle events, it is the lifestyle and encompassing description of those who attend these events.
How does RG Events happen? We’re rider focused!
Radgalz Events are planned by female riders for all female riders and are supported through our awesome sponsors and awesome riders. It is through our event assistants, volley’s, staff, families, coaches, guest pro’s, judges, photographers, venue/mountain staff, entertainers, media, and everyone else that contributes their time and talents or lend a hand that truly make these events happen! Our events are planned for female riders, and to give female riders a unique event experience to call their own! Radgalz Timeline: Giving Galz events to shred in since 2002!
2002-Radgalz is born on a chairlift in BC, and is incorporated in BC as the official name for Canada’s First All Girls Snowboard Event. ‘Girls Style Action Sport and Lifestyle Event’ concept is created and founded by Sarah Johnson. Sarah teams up with Women’s Snowboard and Sports Society and plans first event.
-35% of all snowboarder are female.
2003- Host Inaugural Radgalz Snowboard Classic Presented by Roxy at Big White- welcoming 40 competitors. Fundraiser- Silent Auction raises funds for Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
2004- 2nd Annual Radgalz Snowboard Classic Presented by Powder Room International held at Big White- Welcome approx 55 competitors. Fundraiser- Silent Auction raises funds for Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and Multiple Sclerosis. Radgalz.com is launched.
2005- 3rd Annual Radgalz Snowboard Classic Presented By Powder Room International- Event is re-designed and launch She’s GOT style Fashion Show/Fundraiser involving over 400 spectators, and Billabong Beach Party is a full house! Funds raised for CBCF, ALS, and NOW.
-Launch Radgalz Wakeboard School Presented By Billabong- the world’s first all girls Wakeboard/Skate Instructional Program- 4 week program targeted at bringing girls into wake sports and taking them to the next level-involving 75 students.
2006 - 4th Annual Radgalz Snowboard Classic Presented by Powder Room
International - welcoming over 75 competitors and over 1000 spectators to She’s GOT Style Fashion Show and Billabong Beach Party. Funds donated to CBCF, ALS and Hill Trip.
-Radgalz RIDE Day Clinic Welcomes Canadian Pro and Olympian, Dom Vallee and 40 riders for a day of freestyle and BX instruction
-Radgalz Partners with Epic Boats and Billabong and launches a full summer program for Radgalz Wakeboard School and Classic Presented By Billabong
- 2 month program welcoming 150 students (of all abilities and ages) from all over Canada with top Canadian female rider’s as coaches and a HOT PINK EPIC BOAT !
-Liquid Force brings Maven Pro Team for Canada’s only Maven Session at Radgalz Wake School featuring Amber Wing, Stef Tor, and Courtney Dunston.
-Radgalz signs a 2-year contract with Billabong for Wakeboard/Skate/Surf School Program.
-Finally we can afford a National Ad print campaign with SBC Wake Magazine, and Snowboard Canada!!
-Radgalz Launches new Radgalz.com website designed by Aristech New Media, starts a new team for snow and wake, and plans a new national snowboard series for 2007.
-Females now account for almost 50% of all snowboarders!
-Snowboard Canada’s Women Annual Magazine launches, a good sign of the future of female snowboarding in Canada!
2007-Radgalz launches Canada’s First All Galz, All Abilities Snowboard Series Presented By Billabong! Series includes: She’s got SLOPE Style, Radgalz RIDE Day Clinics, and 5th Annual Radgalz Classic Presented by Billabong-expected to be the largest girls’ series with an anticipated turnout of 300-500 female riders from all over Canada and the World!
- Host Resorts include Mt.St Louise Moonstone, Lake Louise, Cypress, Whistler, Silver Star and Big White Ski Resort!
-Radgalz Wake School Presented by Billabong will be back on Okanagan Lake for 3rd season!
-More to come, it’s just the beginning!
